A horribly fun party card game

"It freakin' sucks!"

A fantastic gift.

Wise Up!, like all of our games, is real-world excitement that's not only unfair, frustrating, and physical, but educational too. Jam-packed with thought-provoking trivia and difficult challenges–it's guaranteed to kind of ruin any get-together or holiday party.

Seriously, this family-friendly head-banger comes in a handy travel tin that you can give and take anywhere, anytime.

Challenge yourself.

It's easy to Wise Up! Players take a card, in turn, and pose the Question to the player to his/her left. If that player answers correctly, they keep the card. If not, the player to his/her left tries to answer it. Play continues clockwise.

There are 150 thought-provoking Questions, like: What was Sleeping Beauty's actual name? What is the circumference of a golf ball? Name a mammal that lays eggs. Where is the zygomatic arch? What are the eight Ivy League schools?

Wait a sec!

Wise Up! also has 50 wicked physical and frustrating Challenges, such as: Throw this card on the floor and pick it up without using your hands. Or how about: Swap shirts with the player to your left. Anyone for a "Thumb War?"

As with the Question cards, the Challenge cards are presented to the player to the card captain's left, who then tries to meet and/or complete the challenge. If successful, he/she keeps the card. If not, the player to his/her left gets a shot at it.

For a Group Challenge, the best player, as judged by the card captain (the player presenting the Challenge), gets the card. The player with the most cards at the end wins.

Don't believe us.

Take it from Ivy Leaguer Mike Cataldo, Harvard, Class of 2004.

What Wise Up! comes with:

• 150 laminated Question cards, 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"

• 50 laminated Challenge and Group Challenge cards, 2 1/1" x 3 1/2"

• Concise, easily-readable instructions

• Perfectly-portable classic tin travel container: 3" x 3" x 4 1/2"

• Designed and assembled in the good old U.S. of A.

We recommend 3-5 players, and even though everything is Rated G, it's probably best for ages 12 and older since some of the Questions and Challenges are intentionally cheeky, difficult, and not necessarily for the faint of heart, or head.

There is no time limit. We usually say first person to get 5 cards wins. Or 10, depending on how long you want to play.

The Official "Wiseacre" Expansion Six-Pack*

For eternal replayability, our newest expansion six-pack consists of 300 brain-busting Question cards (50 for each theme):

1. Brainiac – Our hardest cards are certainly not for the faint of heart (or head).

2. America the Beautiful – Are you as smart as an eighth-grader? How much do you know about the long history and fascinating people and places of this great nation?

3. Nautical – How well do you sea? Ha. Perfect for sailors, yachtsmen, and beach 'n' ocean lovers to dip their toes in.

4. Gone Hollywood – Lights. Camera. Action. A great screen test for movie buffs and wanna be actors and directors.

5. Fun & Games – Are you a player? Sporty? How big are your balls?

6. College – Knowledge is good: here's a way better and cheaper Ivy-League education.

Wicked, wicked fun for everybody

2 x Wise Up! Special is only $29.99.

What are you waiting for, Christmas?

You might also like the world's wickedest word game:

One Up! takes a nimble mind, as everyone tries to be the first person to make a word from the tiles that are face-down in the center. Take turns flipping one tile over at a time: first an "A", then an "R" and then a "T". Shout it out, and don't be shy–"ART!"

Keep turning over tiles one at a time until another word of three or more letters can be made.

But wait a sec! The game has a cool, cutthroat twist: any player's words can be stolen by anyone else by simply adding a letter. If an "M" is turned over, and since you already have the word "ART", I can call out "MART" and take it from you. It's my word now, so pound sand. But anyone can snatch it back if an "S" is flipped over and they yell out "SMART." Damn!

All words are in play at all times. The player with the most words at the end wins.

It freakin' sucks.

"I'm just your average 21 year old, sometimes sober college student training to be a chef at the Culinary Institute of America. One of my friends recently told me about this new game he'd gotten called WISE UP!, and how much fun it was. So one Saturday night we broke it out and played. I got the 'Knuckles' card and my hand is still killing me!"

You've got a winner.

Here's the conversation I had with my wife and two sons when I brought the game home, and crushed them.

Mickey: "How do people who aren't pretentious or who actually know something useful in the real world win this game?"

Sonya: "A 7th grader knew our longitude and latitude..."

Jamie: "Fun and hard."

Dad: "It's not easy being awesome."

Be a 'Wise Guy.'

‘Wise Up’ is a superbly bright smart adult ice-breaker. It’s too intelligent to be merely designated a ‘game’. I had a dinner party comprising a composer, an attorney, a doctor, a language professional, a theater professional and myself, a saloon piano player. The nationalities ranged from German, Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish to British. In the first few rounds, I was stymied by the high level of intelligence imbedded in the game, and my failures inferred that I was a moron; then the game started to infiltrate the recesses of my brain and generate correct solutions. In subsequent games, I started to remember the informative answers to ‘Wise Up’s’ challenging questions, and learning was obviously occurring. There are ‘fun’ cards interspersed with the question cards and, these break up the flow and produce laughter. This is a must party game and at a modest price. Thoroughly recommended for home use, and as a thoughtful gift. Ideal for cruises and vacations. No more stiff, dull gatherings !!

Another great game by the maker. Push your competitive side or just enjoy the mind expanding challenge and wit.
